Everyones family changes over time, children grow up fast and before you know it they have their own children. By booking a professional photoshoot you will have some wonderful photographs of your children, your siblings or your parents to treasure and have as keepsakes.

What happens next?

• Once you have chosen which family photoshoot package you would like, I contact you via email to ask for a deposit
• Your deposit payment is deducted from the price of your shoot so if your shoot price is £225 and you pay £100 deposit then you will only need to pay £125 on the day of your shoot.
• Consultation regarding the details of your shoot can take place over the phone, email or text whichever suits you best.
• I confirm the date and time of your shoot once the deposit is paid, please note your shoot is not confirmed (and therefore can be booked by another client) until the deposit payment has been paid.
• Please arrive on time as each shoot is carefully planned so as not to run in to each other.

• After the shoot I will send you over a link to your email to an online gallery where you can view the images taken during the session.
• I will edit some of the images so you can see what they look like once they are finished, I will also make some images black & white.
• You then simply email me the file numbers of the images you want edited and printed.
• If you would like your digital images on a USB stick (8GB)please add £25 if not they will be sent to you via a link for you to download to your own PC.

Studio or outdoor photography?

Studio photography

At my family portrait studio I offer a relaxed and fun shoot which generally lasts approx 1hr. If any of your children feel nervous about coming to the studio you are welcome to book a visit before your shoot so they can visit to play with some toys and a chat to see the studio and meet me before the shoot.

I like to use neutral colour backgrounds as background so that the focus is on the children, my family portrait photography is quite natural in style so I take pictures of children having piggy backs and cuddles as well as more posed images of children sitting on their own crossed legged or doing their favourite pose. I also encourage you to bring any important teddy, toy, hat or outfit which is important to your child as these can also create memorable images.

Outdoor photography

Lush green woodland or the blues and yellow of a beach landscape can be the perfect backdrop for a family photo. I shoot in beautiful woodland near Colchester, places like Tiptree woods, Friday woods, and the University grounds or the pastel colours of the beach huts at Mersea island or the wilds of Cudmore Grove. I love to take natural photography, capturing children playing freely expressing themselves and having fun with their family outside. My family photography is about shooting the love and emotion between everyone in a reportage style, documenting the fun and laughter as they happen naturally.

Taking pictures during the golden hour just as the sun is going down gives a gorgeous golden light, the photo shoot goes at the pace of your children we stop and start depending on their needs. During the shoot I will take a range of photographs of your children on their own, with parents, with grandma or with the family dogs.
